The Town of Blind River collects bulk items for pick-up once per month, by request, as part of our waste collection services.

Request a bulk pick-up

If you have bulk items to be picked up, please contact us by phone at 705-356-2251, by email at info@blindriver.ca, or in-person at our municipal office at 11 Hudson St.

Please ensure you contact us and pay the bulk pick-up fee at our municipal office no later than noon on the Friday before the scheduled pick-up day. Your address will be added to the list of scheduled pick-ups. Please place your items curbside by 7 a.m. on collection day. Items must be in a visible location curbside, not behind shrubs, fences, snow banks etc.

Items must be compliant with our Garbage and Recycling Collection By-law. We will not collect non-compliant items.

There is a fee for each requested bulk pick-up collection. Municipal User Fees

Bulk pick-up dates

We collect bulk items on the third Monday of each month unless it falls on a Holiday. In which case it will be moved to the Monday following the Holiday.

 This year, our scheduled bulk pick-up days include:

  • Monday January 20, 2025
  • Monday February 24, 2025
  • Monday March 17, 2025
  • Monday April 21, 2025 ** List will be sent to GFL on Thursday April 17th at Noon(Friday is a holiday).

  • Monday June 16, 2025
  • Monday July 21, 2025
  • Monday August 18, 2025
  • Monday September 15, 2025
  • Monday October 20, 2025
  • Monday November 17, 2025
  • Monday December 15, 2025

Non-collectable items

We do not collect the following items during bulk pick-up:

  • Bush or branches that are over three inches in diameter or not bundled and tied in three-inch lengths that can be easily handled
  • Car bodies, auto parts, engine blocks, batteries of any kind and tires
  • Carpets and underlay, unless rolled or tied for easy handling
  • Dirt, sand and rocks
  • Electronic waste, computers, TVs and electronics
  • Fencing and wood fencing
  • Fridge and freezers that are not decommissioned by a licensed technician
  • Hazardous waste
  • Large trees and tree stumps
  • Leaves and grass clippings
  • Paint, chemicals, solvents, gas, oil, drums of any kind and home heating tanks
  • Waste from demolished buildings and building renovations (i.e., drywall, asphalt roofing shingles, bricks, cement blocks, ceramic tiles, concrete, patio doors, wood, skids or railway ties. Plate glass must be broken and boxed)
