Zoning

The Town of Blind River's Zoning By-law governs land use and helps implement policies outlined in our Official Plan. It aims to balance the interests of individual property owners with the needs of the whole community. The by-law details where buildings and structures can be located, lot sizes, building heights, setbacks, and maps of land use zones and permitted uses.

Depending on the zoning of your property, you will need to follow specific land use, building and development regulations.

Zoning By-law Amendments

If your building or development project doesn't comply with the Zoning By-law, you will need to apply for a Minor Variance or Zoning By-law amendment. Under the Planning Act, Town Council has the authority to grant relief through minor variance or pass zoning amendments.
