Low-income senior rebate
If you or your spouse or partner are a senior (65+) and receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) for seniors, you are eligible for a property tax rebate.
How to apply

Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the low-income senior rebate, you or your partner must:
- Be 65 years old or older
- Own and occupy your property on a permanent basis
- Have owned the property for at least one year
- Pay the remaining property tax balance in full
Vacancy rebate
PROGRAM DISCONTINUED EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2024
Charity rebate
Registered charities that own or rent a commercial or industrial property are eligible for a tax rebate of up to 50% on that property.

Applications may also be dropped off at Town Hall.
The deadline to apply for a rebate is February 28 of the following year. If you are renting a property, you may need to contact your landlord to get certain information for your application.
