August 22, 2016 to May 23, 2017: Open Monday-Friday from 10am-4:30pm (or by appointment or special event). *Please note that we are often closed for staff lunch from 12pm-1pm.
May 24, 2017 to August 21, 2017: Open 7 days a week from 10am-4:30pm (or by appointment or special event).
*Closed Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

The Timber Village Museum is located on Hwy 17 East next to the Tourism Information Centre in Blind River. There is ample parking for buses, RVs and other motor vehicles.
The Timber Village Museum is equipped to accommodate a variety of groups including organized tours, school groups and family reunions.
Your group may explore the Museum’s exhibits and collection at its own leisure or through guided tours. Group rates are available.
Please note that the washrooms at the Timber Village Museum are not accessible and cannot accommodate large groups. Groups are encouraged to use the facilities at the Tourism Information Centre prior to arriving at the Museum.
The Museum has a small collection of local history books, DVDs, early newspapers, phone books that date back to 1942, as well as a collection of articles that pertain to a variety of themes in Blind River’s history. Use of the research room is by appointment only.
The Museum welcomes research requests by phone, email, and in person. Museum staff will do their best to reply to these requests in a timely fashion. For more information on research and reproduction costs, please refer to our User Fees.
The Timber Village Museum is a unique venue for birthday parties, family reunions, workshops, and other such social gatherings. By booking your event here, you have the flexibility of working with the caterer of your choice, access to art and heritage exhibits, and the capability of hosting up to 30 guests (seated) or 60 guests (not seated).

The Museum houses a small gift shop known as The Village Shop. This gift shop offers unique gift ideas including local art and artisan goods, maple syrup, souvenirs, books, and much more!
We welcome sales by phone, email and mail and are happy to arrange to have them shipped to the desired location. Please contact us for more information.
