BLIND RIVER CANADA DAY CELEBRATIONS 2016
The Canada Day Celebrations 2016 will be held on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Huron at the Blind River Marina. The venue has changed to offer accessibility to all residents and tourists of all ages.
The event will begin at 11:00 A.M. with a variety of activities similar to the Canada Day Beach Bash, including Kids Karaoke, watermelon eating contest and bean bag toss. This year, with the help of the Gagnon Family, there will be other events including a RibFest, backhoe competition, beer gardens, volleyball tournament and a scavenger hunt.
At 1:00 pm, officiating ceremonies begin with our Canada Day parade led by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 189 Colour Party followed by the singing of our National Anthem and welcome speeches from Federal, Provincial and local elected officials. Hundreds of cupcakes are handed to visitors by Town officials.
At dusk, everyone unites at the local Marina for the beautiful light show at the Festivals of Sails. The celebration closes with a spectacular fireworks display over the waters of Lake Huron.
